Deanna Mehaffey
LPC-Associate/EMDR Trained
Supervised by Dr. Kathleen Wallace, 88881
With seven years of experience in the addiction field, Deanna, began asking what is going on before the addiction, can we address the underlying set of experiences to aid in recovery not knowing at the time these questions would lead to changes in her worldview and its structure. Deanna brings a compassionate and trauma-informed approach to therapy. Specializing in working with individuals who have experienced childhood trauma, she integrates mindfulness-based practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt therapy, and somatic therapy to support holistic healing. By helping clients reconnect with their inner selves and process unresolved experiences, her work empowers individuals to move beyond survival and step into the fulfilling, authentic life they deserve.
This work is part of a second career, following a previous profession as a librarian—a role that deeply shaped a love for learning and a respect for each individual's unique story. Drawing on a foundation of rigorous, data-driven research, her therapeutic approach is both evidence-based and delivered with empathy and compassion. Deanna believes that clients are the true experts of their own lives and experiences. With that in mind, her role is to walk alongside each person, offering tools and insights that support the development of a personal path toward healing and growth—one that can be carried forward throughout life.
